Allison Medina hired as HR Director

GARDEN CITY –The City of Garden City has hired Allison Medina as its Human Resources Director.

Medina, who is a 2011 graduate of Fort Hays State University, will begin her new role for the City on June 29. She earned her Master’s Degree in business administration from Friends University and currently works as project manager for Finney County Economic Development Corporation.

City Manager Matt Allen said the City looks forward to Medina joining its management team. “Allie is a great addition to our staff,” Allen said. “She is a leader in our community and will be an asset to our workforce.”

Under Medina’s direction, the Human Resources Department will be responsible for administrative and professional activities in workforce planning and employment, benefits administration, human resource development, compensation and performance management programs, occupational health and safety, risk management, self-insurance, and technical assistance for City staff. The Human Resource Director also serves as the staff liaison to the City’s Cultural Relations Board.

“As I begin a new chapter in my professional career, I am excited for the opportunity to work with the City of Garden City,” Medina said. I am very grateful for the support I have received from City staff during the process. This progressive organization has created an amazing community that our citizens can be proud of, and I look forward to being a part of City of Garden City.”
