Please contact the Electric Utility Service Center during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm) or the Garden City Police Department after-hours immediately if you damage or know of a damaged underground line.
Low Hanging Power Lines
Never touch a fallen line. It could still be energized and may cause serious injury. Low-hanging lines need to be reported as soon as possible. If it is unknown whether the line is electric, cable, or phone, we will respond to the call and notify the correct company for you.
Storm Caused Outage
In the event of a major outage caused by storm damage, please remain calm. When calling to report the outage, remember there are probably a lot of people without power and phone lines could be tied up. If you have noticed any sparking wires or downed lines, please report this when you do get through. Note: Stay away from any downed or sparking lines. The only other information we need is your address and phone number. Following a major storm, we will more than likely have a large number of outages to investigate. Please be patient, we will get to you as soon as possible.
